She has three children with the pianist Wolfgang Manz, who are all professional musicians.

As a teenager she was awarded 1st prizes at national and international competitions. From 1981-1991 Julia Goldstein studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover with Prof. Karlheinz Kämmerling (Staatliche Musiklehrerprüfung, Künstlerische Reifeprüfung), with Prof. Sulamita Aronovsky at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester/England and at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen in the master class of Prof. Boris Bloch (Konzertexamen).

Through the close collaboration with her father, a special affinity for chamber music developed over the years. Together they recorded the violin sonatas of Brahms and Franck. Julia Goldstein also played with renowned musicians such as Sabine Meyer, Christian Tetzlaff, Christoph Marks, Julius Berger, Alexander Rudin and Kathrin Rabus.
Concert tours have taken her to Spain, Italy, Belgium, France and Russia. As a soloist she has performed with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Beethovenhalle Orchestra in Bonn, as well as at festivals such as "Musikland Niedersachsen" and the Rachmaninow Festival in Tambow/Russia.

Julia Goldstein has also made a name for herself as a piano teacher. Already at the age of 14 she began to work intensively with different learning methods and concepts, which laid the foundation for her personal concept. For decades, this concept has successfully asserted itself in national and international competitions. Many of her students have become renowned musicians who give concerts worldwide and have been appointed professors at renowned universities, including Igor Levit, Jinsang Lee, Konstantin Semilakovs and Nicolai Gerassimez.
