The Rat für Kulturelle Bildung e.V. is an independent body that deals comprehensively with the situation and quality of cultural education in Germany. It is supported by a network of seven foundations: Stiftung Mercator, Bertelsmann Stiftung, Deutsche Bank Stiftung, PwC-Stiftung, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Stiftung Nantesbuch and Karl Schlecht Stiftung (since 2016).
The aim of the Council is to strengthen the status and quality of cultural education in Germany and to anchor it in educational structures on a sustainable basis. The Rat für Kulturelle Bildung e.V. is supported by the "Expertenrat Rat für Kulturelle Bildung". In 2015, the Council established the "Research Fund for Cultural Education", which has also been supported by the Karl Schlecht Foundation since 2017.
